About

Delta Tau Chapter began life as the locally independent fraternity Kappa Sigma Nu. We bacame a chartered chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order on March 22, 1974. In doing so, we were the first on-campus fraternity to achieve a nationally affiliated status. We are also the longest continuously active fraternity at FMU. Forty-Eight years later the chapter still endures as the gold standard for fraternal organizations on campus. There are over 450 alumni from the chapter spread all across the United States and abroad. Many of our alumni have gone on to become successful business owners, medical professionals, educators, and leaders in their communities.

Kappa Alpha Order was founded on December 21, 1865 at Washington College, what is now Washington and Lee University.

KA stands apart from other organziations in that we are an order. We do not seek men out to shape them into something they weren't before. We simply seek men who already share the same values as us. In doing so, we help you to exemplify and grow furhter in these values which already define you.

"You can't go very far in South Carolina without running into a KA" - anybody in SC who knows about KA

The quote above is one that has rung true in many times. Kappa Alpha Order has deep roots within the state of South Carolina. The eight active chapters and commission in our state compose the W. McCleod Frampton, Jr. Province. Becoming a member of the Order will grant you the privelage of experiencing a brotherhood that you will not find in any other college fraternity. You are not just a KA during your college days, you are a KA for life.
